Flagship course
Cohort Signal Studio
Six weeks of Audience Intelligence for Apps — instrumentation craft, retention storytelling, and stakeholder briefs that refuse to erase uncertainty.
Learning outcomes
- Produce an event dictionary your engineering partners can implement without translation meetings.
- Separate seasonal spikes from habit formation using cohort curves tied to named audiences.
- Write a limitation memo that documents what your model cannot claim.
- Deliver a stakeholder brief that keeps executives in the narrative without a single vanity KPI takeover.

Modules
Each week ends with a tangible artifact, not a quiz score.
Audience inventory
Map decisions your app already makes about people — and the silent defaults hiding in your product copy.
Signal hygiene
Hunt zombie properties, rename ambiguous events, and draft an implementable schema slice.
Activation proofs
Define observable proofs of value that are not the same as first-session vanity taps.
Retention narratives
Build cohort stories with seasonal footnotes and a written list of claims you will not make.
Segment ethics
Pressure-test labels for stigma, automation risk, and explainability to the humans being categorized.
Stakeholder rehearsal
Present a brief, take critique, revise, and archive your limitation memo for the next release cycle.
FAQ
Who should enroll?
Product managers, analysts, and growth partners who already ship app changes and want shared language with engineering. Pure beginners to analytics may find the writing load steep.
What tools do we use?
Tool-agnostic. Bring screenshots from Amplitude, Mixpanel, BigQuery, or spreadsheet exports. We care about reading, not vendor lock-in.
What is a real limitation of this course?
We do not provide a plug-and-play dashboard theme or a guaranteed lift metric. If your organization refuses to document uncertainty, the stakeholder module will feel uncomfortable — that friction is intentional, not a defect we hide.
Can teams share a seat?
Live critique is per enrolled learner. For shared seating and private channels, see Audience Orbit on the pricing page.
Course reviews
Week four’s retention narrative assignment forced us to admit our “power user” segment was just people who opened the app on payday. Awkward, then useful.
Facilitation stayed concrete. Homework in the signal hygiene week collided with our release freeze — plan buffer time.
The limitation memo is now attached to every growth experiment brief we write. Quiet practice, loud cultural change.
